CUSTOM HOMEBUILDING

I just want to say thank you again for your generosity concerning the island move. You have been so good to us. Even Rob at Midwest Rug was going to just give us the flooring we needed, saying it was partly because of you! I then told him what you had done for us, and he commented, saying you are a good guy. We agree. As it turned out, we did not need anything more. Sean Jones did a masterful job. It looked perfect, and he didn't have to get more from someplace else in the house. He did it with the 6 pieces and what you pulled up when moving. It's beautiful! Tomorrow Dana is coming out to finish out the cabinetry. Then we will be set. Thank you SO much for all you have done and for how you do it! We appreciate you!

So we LOVE this house! I am partial, but think it's your best one yet.

We are still waiting for our movers to give us notice of our shipment date. I would be willing to hide things, that we currently have for some select photos. The bathroom that I was so scared about initially ... is stunning! The fireplace tile, the maple-stained accents. The cabinets and the pulls and knobs look great!

I think you might still have a two- to three-week window to schedule someone, so I am just throwing that out there.

I love my new home! Phillips Customer Builders builds a quality home, paying attention to the small details, & never cutting corners. They made building my home a truly stress-free experience. While under construction, the workplace was always left tidy – a great example of the pride Phillip’s has for their work.  Jeromy was always available by phone, email, and text for any questions. He always made me feel like I was his number one priority & he took the extra time to explain the process and materials he was using. Cost was critical to me and they explained and advised the best way forward always looking to save money but spending it where it was needed. Good men with quality and workmanship first and foremost. You can’t find a father and son who stand together in their business to be honest trustworthy and respectful of you to help build your dream home.

We selected Phillips Custom Builders to build our house and farm shop in Fair Grove. In selecting a builder, Phillips stood out based on the number of years of experience both Tom and Jeromy have in building homes. They offered many insights, ideas, and watchouts in the construction of our new home. Once we gave them the plans, they developed a detailed budget by item so we knew what items would cost based on our design and preferences. They also provided an item spec sheet for us to complete for flooring, fixtures, colors, shingles, etc. in advance. This process kept the building moving forward, to avoid any delays.

During the construction process, the contractors Phillips Custom Builders used were easy to work with. They took the time to explain the process, especially when we had questions. They also kept a clean job site.

Tom and Jeromy were always available to answer any questions and ensure progress was being made. They deal in minutes and hours, not days and weeks. When one contractor finished and left, it could be within the same day that the next contractor would show up to complete their step in the building process. Any changes were discussed with cost impacts before proceeding.

In the end, we are very happy with our house, farm shop, and Phillips Custom Builders. Without hesitation, we would use them again for the following reasons:

1. They always answer their phone. Over the 10-month build timeframe, I called them a lot and only very few times did it go to voice mail. And then, they would call me as soon as they were available.


2. Their budget was spot on. Their overall budget estimate was within 1% of the final cost. Within each item, it could vary more than 1% as some were more, and some were less based on variation of supplies or changes. Pretty amazing given pricing changes of construction materials, labor, etc.


3. Experience. They've built many homes and commercial buildings so they have solutions to any issue that would arise.


4. In addition to being the builder/coordinator, they do jump in and work if one stem or item is delayed. They show up with their big trucks and every tool known to man, and whatever it takes to keep the project on schedule! This includes a skid steer and excavator which came in handy.


5. Phillips Custom Builders are professionals in their trade. Their insight and knowledge of the building process were impressive. If we were to build another home in the future, we would not hesitate to contact Phillips Custom Builders.
